Busy Day

Emily was busy today. We had visits from the home nurse and the consultant from the First Steps Program. The nurse said she was looking good and is up to 5lbs 15oz now. First Steps offers in home coordinated services and assistance to children and families with unique circumstances. Emily qualifies due to her low birth weight and being a preemie. We had an initial assessment today and will be putting together goals for Emily during the next visit.
We also took our first walk today!! Emily got to experience barking dogs, school buses, kids on skateboards, walking neighbors, and motorcycles. She slept during most of the walk. :-) We rounded out the day by playing in her activity gym. She seems to love it!

Emily and Bailey-BFFs

Bailey's first interaction with Emily was pretty uneventful. Bailey walked by her a few times and didn't even notice her until Emily made a noise which scared Bailey a little. I guess bringing home Emily's clothes for her to smell, made her use to the scents already. Bailey got a few sniffs in and has been sweet all day. She just follows us from room to room and lays by our feet.

Welcome Home Emily Lynn!

Emily left St. Johns at 1:21pm today. We just finished her first bottle at home and are loving her so much. It's been a long 7 plus weeks, but worth every minute of it. Mom and I feel so blessed to have our little girl home and healthy.

Calm Before The Storm

The nurse said tonight that chances are pretty good Emily comes home tomorrow or Monday. She is developing some ear drainage, but they think antibiotics will do the trick and she should be fine. We are all just catching up on some rest in preparation of her arrival.

Uncle Drew Visits

Uncle Drew brought Emmy her new blanket. She loves it! :-)

Bailey Gets Some Attention

With Emily possibly coming home any day now, mom and dad gave Bailey some TLC and hit the dock today. Bailey was excited to say the least. She got to hang out with her four legged friends at the St. Louis Boat Show at the Edward Jones Dome.

Big Updates! Getting Close!

Emily is now upto 5lbs 3.4 oz. For the record, her daddy weighed less when he came home from the hospital 29 years ago! lol. She has taken all of her bottle for her past 36hrs of feedings. They removed her feeding tube this morning. If she continues to take the whole bottle over the next 48hrs, she could be home by Monday!! Keep your fingers crossed.

Car Seat Challenge

Emily had her car seat challenge to make sure she can handle the ride home! She passed the test then passed out! :-)

Emily's Nursery

The only thing missing is her name initials on the wall above her bed.

Trying To Escape

The night nurses caught her trying to escape!!

Emily doubled her birth weight today and has hit the 5lb mark! She continues to do better each day on her bottle feeds, which is what needs to be regular for her to come home.
